The Wedding Affair; 3 Days Endless Night.

I know i promised live updates about the wedding, but all of us was very busy days before the wedding right up to the very last day of the wedding. It was damn tiring. My feet was numb for a couple of days after the 3rd day of the the wedding. Yes its a 3 days affair.

Now where do i start? Let me see...hmmmm...ahhh yes the goodies/door gift for the guest or what we call berkat. She ordered the box for the goodies from KL. Its a package that comes together with her invitation card and a banner to be placed outside the wedding hall. SO the box is not ready made. We had to seat and fold the boxes. And there were about 800 boxes to be fold. No kidding. All those folding was done by just the four of us. Although my back hurts from seating for too damn long, its not everyday all four of us can seat down together and talk, laugh and irritate each other. :) All four of us in one house without parental guidance equals to utter chaos. I had fun. Even when i have to wake up early the next day for work.

This is for the kids. The adults received a pack of butter cookies.

Next up will be the malam berinai or should i say pagi berinai (the night where the bride puts on her henna or for my sister's case its the morning where she puts on her henna). Anyway its a whole day event too. She did her henna on Thursday morning, the day before the solemnization, and at night a few of our friends and family came over to do the Henna too. And since my eldest sister is making a few of the wedding desert, my aunt and I decided to stay up for a few nights to help her out.  Her bridal henna is done by Syra Skins while ours is done by a future cousin in law. hehehe... Thank you Ain. This sweet girl came and stayed till late doing our henna when she has an exam the next day. Thank you so much Ain. <3.

Day 1... 30/08/13

The next morning everyone left early to the mosque (except for me, the bride's maid of cause). The solemnization is to take place at 10am. Alhamdulillah everything went smoothly during the solemnization. Dengan dua kali lafaz mereka sah menjadi sepasang suami istri. The moment was very beautiful. So beautiful that my sis turn to me and say "Ella i think i'm gonna cry." She makes me wanna cry too. I just held her hand throughout the event. Not sure if i'm trying to calm her down or to calm myself. hahahaha... My dad did the akad himself. I guess that's what makes it more meaningful.

Beautiful isn't she? :)

Bride and Groom teased by the relatives. hahaha...so cute. :)
After much teasing is done.
Utter chaos when it comes to this part because she's wearing a head accessories. My family so the kecoh want.  :p

My parents and the newly wed.

Happiness. Family. Alhamdulillah. Thank You Allah.

Friends who came to witness the beautiful ceremony.
Lastly the one responsible for the way my sis look through out her 3 days.  The capable NoraZee from Ishq.

Day 1. 30th August 2013.

 Day 2... 31/08/13

Today is the wedding dinner by the groom's side. It was held at Leng Kee Community Center. Right after the solemnization, our whole family went over to the groom's house together with the bride. Its a kind of tradition to sent of the bride. Indicating that now she's fully under the responsibility of  Mr Husband. :) While leaving i saw my mum trying her best not to shed any tear. She failed though, for as soon as she turn away from my sis i saw her wiping her tears.  My ever so sensitive mum. Love her lots.

Later in the evening they check in at Conrad Singapore, where they will spent the next
3 days at. Therefore on day 2 i had to fetch Mr Cameraman from the hotel to the Leng Kee CC. Since daddy was not familiar with the  way so we got kindda lost for awhile. Sorry Mr Cameraman for making you miss the red carpet shot. Thank God he's a very nice photographer. He is like family already. If people have a family doctor well we have a family photographer. hahahaha... He's been around since my second sis wedding (that was 6 yrs ago) and at every event after that. Be it the kids birthdays or my eldest sis engagement. That proves how we completely trust his skills isn't it? Check out his work here

NoraZee sais that my sis looks like Sandra Bullock. A Bollywood muslimah version of  Sandra Bullock. Hahahaha.... Back at home my eldest sis always says that the bride looks like Kareena Kapoor. Well brother in law you are one lucky guy. You married not just any star but a Bollywood, Hollywood star.  :)

The one responsible for bringing this couple together.
Cant take your eyes off her can you brother in law. hehehehe...

Day 2. 31st August 2013.

 Day 3... 01/09/13

Now here's the busiest day of all. The wedding reception at our side. Held at Marsiling Community Club.

There's alot of last minute issues that needs to be deal with. Really no joke. The night before the wedding dias and tables and chairs arrived late and my eldest sis, my dad and I rush to Marsiling CC straight from the groom's side dinner. Without even changing out of our punjabi suits ok. So imagine us doing the decoration work in punjabi suits bare foot.

When a wedding is done at a CC, the preparations need to be done by 10pm. Die die must finish by 10pm. So when its already 830pm and none of the tables and chair and the dias stuff arrived my eldest sis and i start to panic. We start to ask infact start pleading with the office guy to extend the time for us and we are even willing to pay any extra charges they are going to charge us. But he still refused to allow any extra time. After much pleading and begging finally he say we have up to 12am to get things done. Alhamdulillah. One problem down.

And i really thank God for blessing us with such united family. Every single one of my cousins, uncles and aunties came down that night to help us out. Couldn't be more blessed. Thank you all. Love you guys lots.

When the tables and chairs arrived it took us less then 15 mins to get the place set up. :) But than we took a look at the table cloth that was spread on the tables and i was speechless. It got holes everywhere. Da macam roti kirai la. I was so damn mad. So mad that both my eldest sis and i couldn't take it anymore and breakdown. Yes we cried out of anger and disappointment. Its our sister's wedding, there's no way we are gonna let her have this kind of decoration for her big day. No way.

Mummy than had to bring over the table top we had from home and cover the mess. Plus a clean chair cover. Gosh. even the dias was a mess. When we arrived in the next morning (the day of the reception) the lights was not done yet. Therefore Daddy and a few of my cousins get that fix. Couldn't thank them enough for the help. Seriously.

And here's the catch of the day. We waited for the kendarat to arrive and when the clock strikes 12 still no sign of them we again start to panic. My second sis called them up and they say " sorry maam we do not have any reservation for Marsiling CC today." *faint. No choice but to check this with the bride herself (we have not told her about the previous night chaos) for she's the one who booked the kendarat. When she sent the PDF confirmation we check and found out that it states booked for 1/9/2014. Really wanna faint ready.

So in the end once again we use the strength of our cousins. Thank you guys for being the kendarat of the day in your suits and ties. Love you lots. :) And the girls for loyally taking care of the desert area in your beautiful lace dresses. And to all the uncles and aunties for working hard topping up the dishes from time to time in their ever so beautiful baju kurung and long dresses (some even chuck their high heels aside and walk around bare foot) and for being first class usherers for the guest. We will not be able to have such a smooth event without you guys. A thousand thanks from us the bride's family. :)

The family crew. This is not our full strength ok. There's still more down at the floor. :) Thank you all.

The one responsible for our makeup for that day. Thank you Elly for making time to come down early in the morning to help us with our makeup. :)  The makeup was for me and my sis only. She's only to do Alesha's hair but because this little makcik so vain one she asked Elly to do her makeup as well. Although we say not to, being such a sweetie Elly still put it on for her. And there's one happy girl we got there.

My 2nd sis(a.k.a The bride's twin) and her family and in laws.

At around 5pm in the evening we (the bride, groom, cameraman, video man, myself as well as the groom's best man) left the function hall for the outdoor photo shoot. Venue: Gardens by The Bay.

After walking around for a few minutes i decided to just hold my heels in one hand and my sister's gown's tail in the other and walk around barefoot. Yes i walk around Gardens by the bay without shoes. My feet hurts so badly that i don't give a damn anymore about how i look. And shortly later the bride herself decided to join me and walk barefoot. And by the end of the photo shoot even the groom joins us and walk back to the car barefoot. hehehehehe....
Here's a shot i took with my phone. :)
And because she's wearing RED...it screams for attention from all the people there. some even took a shot or two with their own camera. My sister is indeed a star. hahahahaha....

Ouh...here's a shot with our lovely colleagues. If you must know all four of us works in the same office. or at least used to for. :)

Its a wrap.  Day 3, 1st September 2013.
Here are a few of Hakim's shot.
