Weddings....such beautiful events aren't they. To make that one day come true...the preparations are endless. A damn tiring process.
From the dresses to the decorations to the food and the gifts for the guest to the invitation cards and not forgeting the RING!!! The list goes on and on and on....
AND...this does not only concern the bride or bridegroom but as well as the family members. How so???
Well I wasn't around during my 2nd sis wedding's preparations. I was back just in time for the wedding. So I hv no idea how stressful the preparations can be.
Now that I'm fully involved in my 3rd sis wedding...its very stressful.
Lets talk about the ring 1st shall we.
My sis initially wanted a Tiffany and Co wedding band. With pink sapphire stones. We went to one of the outlet in KLCC and the price was RM 10,000. But she didn't buy it then and there. Undecided on the ring metter. Is it to be a princess cut or something else. So she kept looking right up to early this month (her wedding is end of this month by the way) and she stumble accross this blogs written by brides to be and saw the post on jems by jems so she too wants a customised ring.
She's a die hard fan of the colour pink. So she really wanted the pink sapphire stone to be on her wedding band. Unfortunately jems by jems didn't have that stone in stock. To get it here will take sometime. Disappointed?? Well definitely. So she looks at some other pink stones and blue stones and even emerald stones...and finally she decided on the design and the stone that she wants. What is her choice? Will let u noe wants its ready ok. ;)
Next is the dresses. Yup you guess correctly...she wants a pink dress. There was one she really likes but was too small for her. My sis is really small size. So when she couldn't fit the dress she started saying that she's fat and thus when on a serious no rice diet during the fasting month and well she just got smaller. But still unable to fit into the dress. Sad isn't it. Its ok..she got other beautiful dresses to wear including a pink dress. :)
Now that her dress are settled. Its us siblings turn to stress upon our outfit for the 3 days. The nikah on Friday, the dinner at my bro-inlaw side on Saturday, and the sanding at our side on Sunday.
The outfit for Saturday is easy for we use just what ever indian outfit that we have. The outfit for nikah....we wanted to wear white at first for the bride will wear baby pink. Than the bride change to a white jubah insted of the baby pink outfit. So we hv to make changes too. Ours change to tiffany blue long dress and later it was back to white and gold jubah. Errrk...just hope ppl wont confused who is the bride and who is the twin on the day of the nikah.
The outfit for Sunday is the worst headache of all. My 2nd sis aka the bride's twin aka the wedding's fashion stylist....just keep changing what she wants us to wear. But just one thing was sure we are wearing lace peplum. Colours??? There was black and gold (we even bought it already ok.) To colour block colours...God knows how many colours and websites we viewed. Not to mention the suits for the guys. And the little ones. Gosh it was really stressful.
Al in all I must say that its a damn tiring process but I was glad to be a part of this. It somehow bring us much closer (after all the fights and arguments). And I know that when its my 1st sis wedding we'll be just as busy. Her's will be next year in March. In Syaa Allah. :)
Look out for live updates about the wedding here. Hehehehehehe...
Lots of ♥
