Birthdays...How many of us actually love planning for birthday surprises? Or a big fancy party with lots of decorations, foods, costumes, themes, colours, mascots and of cause the birthday gifts as well. Mostly when there is a kid in the family and he/she is turning one everyone in the family is excited. Especially if its the first child or niece/nephew or grandchild. Thus the fancy party and along with it comes the big fat bills. :)
Just like how we had grown through the years, birthday parties too evolved to be something more exciting and lavish. I've seen how my sis plans for her child birthdays. It's almost like planning for a wedding. No kidding man. I even told her..."
Ni baru birthday belum kawin." But no doubt i do too enjoy in helping out with what i can. It's such a wonderful feeling when you see the kids all merry and getting together. Still no matter how much a birthday party changes there's one thing that never change. The cake and candles.
"If you look over the years, the styles have change - the clothes, the hair, the production, the approach to songs. The icing to the cake has changed flavours. But if you really look at the cake itself, it's really the same" -John Oates-
Anyway this blog entry is specially dedicated to my two lovely little ones.. Alesha Daania and Ayden Danial. My beautiful niece and handsome nephew. :) Well time seems to fly so quickly and before we know it they are already a year older. Ayden turns 2 on the 18th of September and Alesha turns 4 on the 23rd September. I must say my sister do know how to plan. hahahahah..kidding.
Since they each already had their own birthday bash when they turn one. Alesha had a Mickey Mouse theme party when she turns one and Ayden had his royal theme party when he turns one (the sister join in and celebrate her 3rd Birthday). So the mummy decides that one birthday bash is enough and for the subsequent years it will be just a home celebration with the family. No more big parties. No more house full with their presents.
Here are some pictures on Alesha's 1st birthday:

This year we decided to bring them to the zoo to celebrate their birthday. The kids was soooooo looking forward to the water play (not only the kids actually..infact we do too). When we arrived the line was already long. So while my sis and i get in line to get us a ticket we found out that the water play was closed for that day. My sister was quite mad. She was angry as when she check on the website it didn't state that it was close. The confused don't-know-where-to-go us stood at the entrance of the zoo figuring out where we can take the kids. Well...after all its their day and its what they want that matter most now and they want water play. Brainstorm and think of a few places and not forgetting the rainy day plan we decided to get a chalet at east coast. We called and they said that they still have available rooms and we'll need to walk in to book a room. Settled on location.

Change place so many times but the hotdog bread roll is still not half eaten yet. |

entertaining themselves while waiting or the food to arrive. |
Upon arrival we were already famished. The parents than offered to get us food while we rest in the room with the kids. After lunch we had the traditional cake cutting. :) Alesha wanted a Dora cake this year and Ayden a Barney cake. It was hard getting Ayden to stand still for the photo taking. He kept on reaching out for the knife and go "cut..cut.." hahahaha...nak marah pun tak jadi..So adorable la he.

Birthday boy just can't wait to cut the cake. |
The kids went for a swim after that and boy do they just love water play. :) It's their day so kasi chance la ar to enjoy. No one needs to be a genius to know what happens after swimming right. Lapar la kan budak-budak tu. After the second round of Chicken rice, we went to rent a bike. We had to rent the double setter bike for we ermmm...dont know how to cycle. hahahahahaha.... only my brother and his fiance knows how to. So we each took turn to seat with either of them. :)
